Hi everyone,

This is really difficult for me to write, but I’m asking for help for my cat Venus, aka beans.

Venus has been my best friend and constant companion for almost ten years. She is a 9 year old brown tabby with the sweetest personality, and anyone who has met her knows how special she is. She has been there with me through so many different parts of my life and has always been a huge source of comfort and happiness.

Recently I started noticing some worrying changes in her health and brought her to the vet as soon as I could. After testing and examinations the vets confirmed that Venus has cancer.

Hearing that news has been incredibly hard. After talking with the vet about the options, I made the decision not to pursue aggressive treatments. Instead my focus is on making sure Venus has the best quality of life possible for whatever time she has left. Right now that means keeping her comfortable, managing her symptoms, and making sure she can still enjoy her days.

Her first visit alone cost a little over one thousand dollars just to diagnose what was happening and begin treatment. Venus is now on three different medications that help reduce inflammation, control fluid buildup, and keep her comfortable. She will likely need to stay on these medications for the rest of her life and they require regular refills.

I am also bringing her in for frequent checkups so the vet can monitor her condition and adjust medications if needed. These visits are happening almost weekly right now so we can make sure she stays as stable and comfortable as possible.

The sudden cost of her medical care has already taken up my savings, and the ongoing medications and vet visits are becoming very difficult for me to manage on my own.

Venus has given me nearly ten years of unconditional love and companionship. She truly means the world to me. Right now my goal is simply to give her as much comfort, love, and peace as possible during the time we still have together.
