My Venus is a 1 year and 7 month old female and was rescued at about 3 months old in McAllen by a friend who knew I was searching for a friend for my older cat Azula. She drove back to Austin with her! She is usually a high energy, cuddly and vocal cat!
She has now been diagnosed with “significant renal kidney disease” which came out of no where as she showed no previous signs for the year + I’ve had her. She has had numerous vet checkups but nothing was noticed. She began vomiting early on 10/25 then stopped eating 10/26. After taking her to the vet, results showed her kidneys were enlarged and blood work confirmed she had a chronic kidney disease.
I was made aware this is very uncommon in such young cats and it could be a birth issue or maybe some kind of kidney damage when she was a baby.
She is currently in the hospital for a few days getting IV fluids, abdominal ultrasound, more lab work etc at a 24-hour facility.
Ultimately the doctors said there’s a chance things may not change and she would have to be on medication for the rest of her life to try to keep it under control but there is no guarantee.
Her medical bill is approximately $5491.86 for the hospital and $1088 for the vet visit. Any amount donated would be helpful. I would really appreciate any help at all!
My goad is to be able to pay her increasing hospital bill and potentially any after care medication to keep the kidney disease under control!
