If there ever was a person that never met a stranger, that person is Venus Carr. If there ever was a person that lights up the room when they walk in, Venus is that person. If there was a time that you ever needed a shirt…. Venus would give you the one right off her back. Venus is the devoted mother of Peri and Major. Peri is currently attending Springhill College and Major will be a high school senior this fall. Venus is hard working and runs her own cleaning business to support her family but unfortunately her work has been limited due to a unexpected illness. In January of 2021 Venus was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Since then she has had numerous ER visits, hospital stays, and out of pocket medical expenses. She is also undergoing chemotherapy and anticipates several more surgeries in the future. She has had to start weekly injections due to a low white blood count while battling the physical and mental side effects of chemo. Her current physical limitations have directly impacted her ability to work and run her business to provide for her family. I am asking for everyone to live like Venus. Don’t be a stranger. Let’s light up her room and give her the shirt off of our backs. Thanks in advance for any assistance to help this amazing woman and her family.
