"This PRIDE month you have the opportunity to show your allyship, to show up in mutual aid, to give our love to a beautiful human being. Our sweet friend needs some support as they shift into a new employment dynamic. In their current role they are unsafe.

As a disabled, Black, queer, trans person they are dealing with a lack of safety on multiple fronts. Their body is showing unsustainable signs of distress including work-related back spasms and their blood pressure is now in Stage 2 Hypertension.

Their work environment is also unsafe interpersonally, as they are experiencing retaliation and discrimination from management.

We know what these stressors can do to a person living with multiple marginalizations. We as a culture, are creating language to discuss these nuances, these problems that our community members face and it illustrates an often heartbreaking reality.

But we are not alone with this reality. We are not stuck in this reality. Along with this language we have also developed methods of community building. Mutual aid. Scripts for promises we can make to each other for when things hit hard and pile on.

Let’s show Venus what that looks like in practice.
