My name is Mike Ciampa and I am the Manager for an Albion Boys Soccer Academy team.  The team and I are setting up this Go Fund Me to try and raise money to support a teammate and his family. The Team wants to be able to provide video game footage of the team and the boys while our teammates Dad is deployed and serving our country for the next year.

I have never done a GoFund me campaign.   It is not like I never felt passionate about a cause, I was just never moved enough to take real action that would make a difference.   As I saw this story with my friend and my son’s teammate unfold, I knew we had to do something that would support him and his family while he was away. 


Our friend Venice is an active duty serviceman in the Navy serving on a San Diego based Air craft Carrier.  Venice has served his country now for 20 years. Currently he was just deployed for the next year. 

Venice’s son Oshea is a teammate of my son Brody. Our boys are 9 years old and very passionate about playing soccer.  They play for a respected San Diego Based Academy;  Albion SC .   Until his deployment, Venice has always taken the lead with Oshea and has been out at every practice and every game.  He says its the best part of his day.  Venice shared with me before he left that he has been deployed many times prior, but this deployment is by far the hardest to leave his family.  The thoughts of me being away from my son for a year was something that really bothered me. I kept coming back to how hard that would be. 

Knowing Venice would be gone for a year, parents on the team pledged to help him and his family.  We promised to send videos and pictures when we could to keep him updated and involved in his son’s progress and development.   It wasn’t until we were introduced to the TRACEUP  platform that we figured out how to make this happen.  Sending video to a serviceman on an active duty aircraft carrier would be difficult and delayed in delivery.   With Trace, we will be able to send a high quality link with his son’s highlights and ball touches edited.  Assuming there is not much down time when delayed at sea…this would be the most efficient and quickest way to get all the information to our friend.   Check out this video of our recent match vs a local Liverpool Team.

Venice loves his family and he loves his country.  We figured this video service can keep him connected to his son and keep him connected to one of his favorite things to do.  The team wanted to do something that would serve his family while he was away serving his country.  My hope is that you take the time to consider this story and how we can impact the family of a San Diego active duty serviceman.  I hope we can find a way to serve Venice and Oshea’s family while they are serving and sacrificing for us.
