Help Venezuela's Rescue Team Save Lives After the Earthquake

On June 24, 2026, Venezuela was hit by two major earthquakes of 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude that caused widespread destruction across several regions of the country. Buildings collapsed, families lost their homes, and countless people remain in urgent need of rescue and emergency assistance. As reports continue to emerge, rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate survivors, assist the injured, and help families affected by this disaster.

In moments like these, every minute matters.

This fundraising campaign seeks to support the work of Bomberos UCV (https://bomberosucv.com/ ), a volunteer firefighting and rescue organization that has long been recognized throughout Venezuela for its dedication, professionalism, and life-saving emergency response efforts. Their teams are already mobilizing to assist affected communities, conduct search-and-rescue operations, provide emergency support, and help reach those trapped or injured by the disaster.

The funds raised through this campaign will help provide critical resources for rescue operations, including:

• Emergency rescue equipment
• Medical and first-aid supplies
• Protective gear for rescuers
• Communication and logistics support
• Essential resources needed during ongoing emergency operations

No contribution is too small. Whether you can donate or simply share this campaign with your network, your support can help strengthen rescue efforts during this critical moment.

I will provide updates as information becomes available and as funds are transferred to support the work of Bomberos UCV.

Thank you for your solidarity, generosity, and compassion.

About the Fundraiser:
My name is Luis Alvarado Bruzual, I was born and raised in Venezuela. I was born in Cariaco, where 9 days after I was born my hometown was the epicenter of a major earthquake that made my family become internally displace people. This natural disaster on July 9, 1997 shaped my life and my family's life in many ways. I am very aware of the long-lasting consequences of major natural disasters like these.

Despite now living in the USA, Venezuela is the country where my family, friends, colleagues, and countless people I care about continue to live. Like millions of Venezuelans living abroad, I watched the news of these earthquakes with deep concern, knowing that behind every report are real families, real communities, and real lives hanging in the uncertainty of a country with a weak governance, and extremely fragile health system that continues to face a deep humanitarian crisis since 2016.
