Like so many of you reading this, I am Venezuelan. On June 24, 2026, our country was struck by two powerful earthquakes — magnitude 7.2 and 7.5, according to the USGS — less than a minute apart, near Caracas and the surrounding states. They are among the strongest earthquakes to hit Venezuela in over a century, and they have plunged an already fragile nation into a profound humanitarian crisis.

This is not a distant headline for me — it is home. My own loved ones are among those affected, and they are far from alone.

The destruction is devastating. Hundreds of people have been confirmed killed and the toll continues to rise, thousands have been injured, and many remain missing or trapped beneath collapsed buildings. Homes, hospitals, and critical infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed across Caracas, La Guaira, and neighboring regions.

Venezuela was already enduring years of deep economic, political, and social hardship, with limited public services and emergency resources. This disaster has pushed countless families beyond their breaking point — and our country simply does not have the heavy equipment and resources needed to respond to a catastrophe of this scale on its own.

International aid has begun to arrive, but it is nowhere near enough, and much of the rescue effort is being carried out by ordinary Venezuelans searching for their neighbors by hand.

Given the situation, I refuse to stand by and do nothing while my country and my people suffer. That is why I created this fundraiser: to get real help to the people who have lost everything, by supporting trusted organizations already working on the ground.

Where your donation goes:

To get help to those affected as quickly and responsibly as possible, the funds raised are channeled to established, registered nonprofit organizations already working on the ground in Venezuela. These experienced relief organizations have the networks and logistics to deliver aid where it's needed most.

Donations support their earthquake-relief work, including:

-Emergency food and clean drinking water

-Medical supplies and essential medicines

-Care and shelter for children who have lost parents or family members

-Support for families and communities affected by the disaster

The organizations currently supported include Coromoto 2020, We Love Foundation, and Fundación Belloso, all registered nonprofits active in the earthquake response. As the situation evolves, additional established organizations may be added, and I will keep donors updated.
