Help Vega and her stupid heartworms

I'm as stumped as you are!
Vega recently tested positive for heartworm and the vet bills are starting to creep up. My vet, the cardiologist, and myself are stumped as to how she got heartworm in Washington (a state where heartworm is less than 2%), she's been on a preventative and tested negative the year prior. My insurance does not cover any sort of parasites as I found out today after submitting the claim, thanks a lot FIGO! Just the injections needed to kill heartworms are $750 a piece, not counting additional meds and office visit fees, and I'm already $2000 in on imaging, labs, and vet visits. Any bit you can give helps towards covering her treatment and keeping this happy girl alive and well!
