Help Vaughn Martin Beat Cancer

Vaughn Martin is a fifth grade teacher in Caribou, Maine, who is battling cancer. He will be having surgery in Portland in late November, 2024. Vaughn lives with his wife, Laurie, who is semi-retired. They have two grown daughters who live in other states. While their insurance will cover some of the costs, the deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses are high.

Vaughn's passion is science. He teaches with many hands-on experiments and enjoys making learning fun - thus the "Mad Scientist" outfit. The class pets this year are hermit crabs named Crackin, Mr. Crabs, Giselle, and Bob by the students.

Vaughn also enjoys landscaping and has a degree in Plant and Soil Science. He spends his summers working in his home gardens and caring for the school educational garden.

He also volunteers his time caring for the plants at a local dental clinic, coffee shop, and his home church. He volunteers year round as the Manager of the Easton Food Pantry since its inception many years ago.
