Our brother, David Van Hoelscher, died on September 29, 2025. He was retired and living in Florida at the time of his death. Rosalind and Erica, his identical twin daughters whom he loved very much, live in northern California. They are both working mothers putting their children through college. Van was very proud of his grandchildren, two who are attending college, and two who have already graduated.
Van's nickname was "Van the Scan Man". He retired from Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, working as a Medical Imaging Technician. He gave many young, seriously ill patients comfort and care at their most vulnerable moments.
Van loved all sports but especially the Chicago Cubs. He was also known as "Cub Fan Van".
Rosalind and Erica would appreciate your help to have their Dad cremated and his remains brought back to California to be interred next to his parents. He left no will or financial resources to help with his end-of-life expenses. His daughters are in need of financial support for cremation, burial, attorney's fees for probate, cleaning, furniture removal, and travel expenses.
Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping our family at this difficult time.
