My name is Vanna, and I’m asking for help after going through an unexpected and overwhelming situation.
What Happened?
Recently while I was working in Northern California during Super Bowl weekend, my car was stolen. What started as a normal day quickly turned into a nightmare. After reporting the theft, law enforcement later located my vehicle during a high speed police chase. The person who stole it eventually crashed and was arrested.
While I’m grateful the car was recovered, it unfortunately came back damaged and many of my personal belongings were gone.
What was taken?
Inside the car was a suitcase filled with clothes, shoes, gym gear, jackets, purses, hats, and other personal items. My backpack was also taken, which held things that meant a lot to me including my Bible and devotional notebooks. Losing these items has been both financially and emotionally difficult.
Why isn’t insurance covering it?
Unfortunately, insurance has not covered most of the damage to my vehicle or the belongings that were stolen from inside the car. I’ve also had to pay towing and recovery costs just to get the vehicle back.
What will the funds be used for?
The funds raised will go toward repairing my car, covering towing costs, and replacing essential items that were stolen. Altogether, the financial impact has come out to about $3,500.
Why I’m asking for help?
As someone who normally handles things independently, it has been difficult and humbling to ask for help. But after encouragement from friends and church community, I decided to open this fundraiser so I can recover from this setback and get back on my feet.
Any support, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or helping me replace some of the items that were lost would mean more than I can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting me during a very difficult moment.
