Help Vanessa through her treatment!

Since we reopened Ocean View, a lot of people have been coming by and asking, "Where's Vanessa?" "How's she doing?" "When is she coming back?" It's definitely been hard for us getting by without her. She was a permanent fixture of our little family from the beginning and really for a long time before that. And anyone who has known us at Ocean View knows how close we are with Vanessa and how much we love her. Until now, we haven't been able to completely answer any of those questions about why she hasn't with us in the restaurant. But since she's now given us permission to talk about her situation, we want to answer those questions, and then ask you all once again for your help.
Vanessa was unable to return to work with us because she has been fighting an aggressive strain of breast cancer, and is currently in active treatment. At this point in her course of treatment, she says they are 99% sure that they have removed all of the cancer, but she still has a long and difficult journey ahead of her with chemotherapy.
This disease has broken my family's heart before. Alissa's mother passed away five years ago after losing her fight with breast cancer. And Alissa and I are determined to stand by our friend Vanessa as she takes up her fight against the disease, and do everything we can to help.
Since she's unable to return to work, she's trying to make ends meet with her disability pay, but we were hoping that we could rally her friends to pitch in to try to help her through financially.
This last year has been really hard on everybody, and I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about tragedy. So let's not make this a sad, tragic story. Let's make this a story about how a community of friends came together to support and uplift a friend in need. I know we've asked for your help a lot in this last year at Ocean View. We never expected to have to shut down the restaurant, or to lose our friend Enrique. But you've come through for us and shown us so much love. And we'd really like to share that love with Vanessa and carry her through this challenge to get to the other side where we're all hugging and laughing and singing together again at karaoke.
Please donate what you can and share this campaign with anyone that you can think of.
