Help Vanessa Heal: Support Her Recovery

Hi friends new and old. It’s really hard to ask for help, but here I am. I’m reaching out because I’ve been dealing with some pretty unexpected health issues and need your help to get through this. I’m a nurse and I’ve built up my own small business helping people recover in their homes. Unfortunately, until my health issues are resolved I can’t work.

The Situation:

I’ve been sick for the last 6 months, trying to balance my health, my business , and care for my pets. Six ER visits later and 30 lbs lighter, they still can't give me a conclusive diagnosis.

Last week, after another ER visit, I was admitted to the hospital for 4 days. Doctors say it will take 6-8 weeks for the inflammation to go down enough for them to run the diagnostic tests they need to do before they operate. Once they operate, it will take another 4-6 weeks to recover.

The Money Stuff:

During my most recent stay in the hospital, doctors concluded that with my symptoms and in the condition I'm in, I'm unable to work. I’ve already burned through my savings on tests, hospital visits, and rent as it was difficult to work through the symptoms I was experiencing. Now that we’re finally getting somewhere, the costs just keep adding up. If you’ve ever been on unpaid medical leave, you know things can spiral fast.
