Help Vanessa get Accessible Vehicle Adaptations
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Art and I am fundraising for my dear friend Vanessa, "Nessy" for short. Nessy is the kind of person who will do anything they can for their friends. She is kind, funny, smart, and so, so caring! In fact, despite needing their own financial help, she has helped me multiple times to get me where I need to be - and now she needs our support!
Vanessa gradually lost the ability to walk and have functional use of their legs over the past 7 years. They have not been able to drive for the past 2 because of how hard it is to acquire accessible driving equipment. They need to adapt their vehicle for independent driving, and anything we can do to help would mean so much. I can't stress how much this has affected their quality of life, and seeing them struggle with the lack of independence and how this has affected them is so hard. Because, let's be honest, Can you imagine not being able to leave your house? Vanessas entire salary is going towards paying off a minivan, and a wheelchair lift. They still need semi-electric hand controls and adaptive secondary controls, and they are not eligible for funding or financing.
So much of our society already isn't wheelchair accessible, and donating or sharing this post can bring Vanessa one step closer to having what so many of us share - the ability to go wherever we need whenever we please.
The cost of equipment, in total, is 3,500.
Our fundraising goal: 1,500
Thank you so much for reading, for sharing, and for donating where you can. Let's get together and make life easier for Nessy. She would do the same for us - and deserves it either way.
