Help Vanessa & Family Get Through Tumor Treatment
Spende geschützt
Hello everyone, I'd like to tell you about my younger sister Vanessa. Vanessa at the age of 39, has ALWAYS been the healthy type, eats right, never drinks or smoked, and exercises. She's in the healthcare industry working full-time to support her family and is a wonderful mother of two fantastic kids who are 8 and 6.
Vanessa has lived a healthy and happy life.
It was a surprise when Vanessa started having headaches and double vision. This past March 2022 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was scheduled immediately for surgery. Vanessa had surgery in April 2022 to remove as much as the top specialist could. Thankfully, the tumor was considered benign; but, due to the delicate location of the tumor very little could be removed. After weeks of recovering and missing work Vanessa endured weeks of therapy and hard work.
Flash forward to mid-July 2022, she had her first major follow-up appointment to find out her tumor had grown and was now potentially putting more vital parts of her brain at risk. This was a blow for sure but she has continued to press forward. To prevent the tumor from continuing to grow, she now needs 6 weeks of daily treatment scheduled to start in the next couple of weeks. The radiation specialist is in Salt Lake City, Utah, a good 4.5 hour drive from her home in Idaho, so she and her family are forced to relocate to Utah to continue her journey.
The upcoming treatment is intensive and time consuming and she has already missed weeks of work as a result of the surgery. Needless to say, it's been physically and mentally challenging as well as expensive. While she has remained positive and keeps making gains, there is still even more to do all while balancing life at home.
Vanessa has worked so hard to meet this challenge and she has made such great progress. However, things are truly beginning to get tough. Her and her family have pushed on, her kids have been amazingly resilient, but making ends meet has become harder and perpetually more stressful. Donations to help my sister and her family get through this difficult time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
