Help Vanessa and her dogs Reunite with Her 88-Year-Old Mom

01/16/2025 URGENT PLEASE HELP! Thank you so very much for the help a few of you have provided me. I seem to have found another hurdle as now I'm being told by airline that they cabin dogs also have to have their medical certificates endorsed by the USDA and it's 315.00 per pet. I was able to pay out of pocket for 2, plus updating vetting was provided by Baum Foundation for the Animals, however the remaining couple of dollars I need to have when I get to Guatemala . I will get back on the horse until I set up my office at home with my mom and do my side jobs. Right now I'm still struggling to put the funds together and I really need your help. If not in the way of a donation, I might be able to handle a loan. This is my gofundme which is stalled at 300+ dollars and hasn't moved forward and I haven't been able to get to my mom's. I haven't been able to reach my goal, which is heartbreaking.

For those that are wondering why did I have to resort to do a GoFundMe to be able to move and take care of my mom, here is what's happened: I've been ill and moved out of Miami to take care of my health, then my son has been hospitalized, while I'm still taking care of my own health, while he was at Mount Sinai in Los Angeles.

I started the campaign weeks before my mother actually fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital and I wasn't even communicated that until five days into her hospitalization. My mother was discharged and now more than ever I need to head out. She needs 24/7 care and the cost of round the clock nurses is out of the budget. I need to get there as soon as possible. This is not a GoFundMe just to ask. I have been ill and now I do have to rush to care for my mom. Please. It's Christmas and I haven't been able to get to her side.

Nobody should be alone at this time.

It's time to be with MOM! My name is Vanessa Spatz, and I haven't seen my mom, who lives in Guatemala, in 6 years.

She is 88 years old now and lives alone, not something that she deserves at this time. She's been a warrior single mom since I was born and has been my compass and strength in the latest, most difficult years. However, it is time that I take care of her. The last years for me have been extremely trying, and I've been focusing mostly on getting healthy, undergoing multiple medical treatments for not-so-easy-to-navigate illnesses. I am also alone here, with no family or friends nearby. I do have my dogs, who are my children. Leaving them behind is not an option. I've heard all sorts of advice: "give them for adoption," "it's time you downsize, keep just one," they say, but we belong together like it's been and needs to continue being.

To make this way to my mom in Guatemala, my dogs cannot travel in the cabin, regardless that they are indeed ESA dogs. They must travel cargo, and the current cost of taking my fantastic 5 is hefty. I have only a week to put this together and get the vet permit and book their journey, new beginning with my mom and me. I also know she will love them so much since she is the one who got me my first Dachshund at the age of 7. I am 52 years old now.

This is my plea, honest and transparent. I do not have this kind of funding anymore. I sincerely need your help.

They would be traveling on the same flight I will, from Miami, FL to Guatemala City. I am already vacating the house I was renting, and bags are packed. Please help me reunite with my mom these holidays. My family, my rock. Both, my mom, the place I was born, and my pack of angels.
