Help Vanessa and Asa in their time of need

Hi, my name is Robbie and I am starting a fundraiser for my friend Asa (37) and his wife Vanessa (34). They have a teenage son who is an avid soccer player, which is where I met Asa and his family. Vanessa was recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma that has spread to the adjacent lymph node. She is scheduled for a PET scan in the coming weeks. She will be undergoing surgery to remove her affected kidney. Prior to her diagnosis, Vanessa missed a lot of work due to the pain. She subsequently lost her job only to find out a week later she had a tumor on her kidney.

Asa has been working two jobs, one as a competition soccer coach and at a distribution center. Prior to her diagnosis, he went to part-time at one job resulting in a loss of health insurance. They are working on getting a new policy but are unsure what the benefits may or may not cover. We would like to invite as many people as possible to share their story in hopes of giving them some peace of mind, and to allow them to focus on Vanessa's difficult battle ahead.
