Help Support Valor and His Family Through This Fight

A sweet 6-year-old boy named Valor is facing something no child should ever have to endure.

After nearly a year of painful migraines, Valor was just diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called craniopharyngioma. Along with the tumor, he is also experiencing hydrocephalus (swelling on the brain), which has made his condition even more serious.

Valor is also autistic, which adds another layer to this already overwhelming situation. The unfamiliar environment, constant procedures, and extended hospital stay can be especially frightening and difficult for him to process. What is already a scary experience for any child is even more overwhelming for Valor, making this journey that much harder on him and his family.

While doctors are currently optimistic that the tumor is benign, the road ahead is anything but simple.

Valor will require a very delicate and high-risk surgery. Because of the tumor’s location—touching critical areas including arteries and his optic nerve—there are serious risks involved, including stroke, bleeding, and potential vision complications. Due to its placement, doctors will not be able to remove all of the tumor, meaning this will not be a one-time battle. He will need ongoing MRIs, specialized care, and long-term monitoring.

His family was not expecting this life-changing diagnosis. What was supposed to be a routine MRI turned into a hospital stay that will now last several weeks or longer. They are currently facing an extended time away from home, their other 6 children, work, and normal life as they focus on caring for their son.

This is just the beginning of a long and emotional journey filled with medical appointments, specialists—including endocrinologists and ophthalmologists—and countless unknowns.

Through it all, they are holding onto hope, leaning on their faith, and loving on their boy every step of the way.
