My name is Valery, and I’ve dedicated my life to supporting young children and their families as a preschool teacher in Florida. Since 2004, I’ve also been a single mom, raising my amazing 25-year-old son who recently graduated from college. He is currently our only source of income, he works 2 jobs - 40

Hrs daytime Monday to Friday, plus night times on Friday and Saturday nights as a Valet Parking Attendant, since I have been unable to work consistently since February 2020 when my back gave out unexpectedly. Since then, I have endured severe back, leg, and ankle pain, and after many emergency visits, physical therapy sessions, and pain management treatments, I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and scoliosis, among other complications.

Despite trying everything from chiropractic adjustments to medication, my pain has only increased, making daily life and work impossible. My laminectomy surgery is scheduled for Monday, October 20th, 2025, and I am hopeful that this will be the turning point in my journey to recovery. However, the costs associated with surgery, ongoing medical bills, physical therapy, and essential home modifications—like an adjustable mattress and frame, bathroom safety bars, a non-slip bath chair, a post-op brace, and a raised toilet seat—are overwhelming. On top of these, we are struggling to keep up with basic bills like electricity and groceries.
