Help Valerie Recover from Brain Surgery
My daughter had her first seizure on the 10th of January 2020.
Little did she know that the recurring headaches, amongst other symptoms, were in fact a sign pointing to the presence of a life threatening brain tumour. She never vocalized her pains and hurts. Countless CT scans and MRIs were conducted and yet another tumour was detected. Words can’t possibly describe how I felt. Saying that I was devastated would be an understatement.
Brain surgery is an extremely invasive procedure but unfortunately it is absolutely necessary. It is a major medical event. The risks that it carries seem countless. She may wake up with speech impairments, have trouble understanding the 4 languages she speaks, memory loss and problems with balance as well as coordination. The right side of her body may no longer be functional. Keep her in your prayers. Nobody should go through such hardships.
The operation will be held the 25th of November 2020. She is the most positive person I know. She likes to tell me that life is like a game of poker: she may not like the cards she was dealt but she sure as hell won’t fold. “You could loose but there are chances you may win, Mami! “
Any donations will be appreciated as the recovery is extremely difficult and rehabilitation will most likely be required. Our family thanks you for your outpour of love and support.
Why do we fall? To get back up! Let’s help her get back up when she needs us the most.
