Help Valerie Heal After Her Breast Cancer Battle

We are raising funds on behalf of Valerie Blackburn, who has been fighting health complications ever since her advanced breast cancer diagnosis in 2019. After undergoing chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy in 2020, Valerie is thankfully cancer-free—but her struggle did not end there.

Over the past few years, Valerie has suffered from severe and chronic symptoms, including neck, shoulder, and spinal pain, digestive issues, edema, restless leg syndrome, and neuropathy. Despite facing many health issues, Valerie has continued to support the Breast Cancer Foundation by raising funds and participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event each October, as well as promoting awareness through her breast cancer license plates.

After many appointments and extensive testing, her doctor has diagnosed her with Breast Implant Illness (BII). Valerie is scheduled for essential surgery on January 8, 2026, including an explant, en bloc capsulectomy, and reconstruction. Her out-of-pocket cost is approximately $4,500, which she cannot afford due to the impact these health issues have had on her ability to work.
