Valerie is a bright, strong little girl whose life has been turned upside down by something doctors still don’t fully understand.

Over time, we began noticing that valeries leg pain had gotten worse and weird brusing had started to occur. as time has gone on her entire right side of Valerie’s body is now being affected. smaller limbs,weightloss,fatigue and so much more. What started as small concerns quickly turned into a long and exhausting journey through the medical system. Instead of getting clear answers, we found ourselves fighting just to be heard.

Valerie has gone through countless doctor visits, scans, and MRIs, traveling back and forth to specialists 4 hrs away while trying to keep life as normal as possible for her. Some days she pushes through the pain with incredible strength. Other days, the exhaustion and discomfort are written all over her little face. Seeing the bags under her eyes and the pain she tries so hard to hide is something no parent should have to watch.

As a parent, nothing prepares you for fighting for your child while still searching for answers.

We have been incredibly grateful for the doctors who have stepped up and truly listened. A doctor in Idaho Falls has been advocating for her case and encouraging specialists at Primary Children’s Hospital to continue digging deeper to figure out what is happening.

We never imagined sharing our story so publicly, but if it helps bring Valerie closer to answers and the care she needs, then every bit of it is worth it.

But this journey has come with overwhelming challenges.

Between constant appointments, medical testing, travel to specialists, and the medical bills that continue to arrive, the financial burden has been incredibly heavy. Even with insurance, the costs add up quickly when you are constantly traveling for care and missing work to be at appointments.

On top of everything else, we are also facing car troubles, which has made getting Valerie to her many appointments even more stressful and uncertain. Reliable transportation is critical for us right now because her care often requires long drives to specialists and hospitals.

We are doing everything we can to keep pushing forward and fighting for our daughter.
