In December 23 of 2024 Valentino started with fever and a little cough… we took valentino to emergency Room on December 29th and they say it’s just a virus and they send us home with Tylenol every 8 hours … The fever and discomfort never go away. In January 3th he start with high levels of fever (106-105) and we tried Tylenol and Motrin every 6 hours but unfortunately it didn't work. January 7th we took Valentino once again to emergency Room and they say it’s pneumonia so they send us to home with Tylenol every 8 hrs and antibiotics every 12 hours …We went home hoping that our son would get better soon but unfortunately none of that worked . Six days later we took Valentino to emergency Room And that's where all this started. Upon arriving at the hospital, the nurses were alarmed to see Valentino's skin color. He was very pale. Immediately a nurse called a doctor to see him without registering yet and the doctor with a worried and astonished face told me "your son needs an immediate blood transfusion". Which was surprising to me because I didn't understand how a "pneumonia" needed a blood transfusion.Once we were admitted they started with blood tests and after about 3 hours I remember 5 doctors coming in and telling me that they had to transfer my son to the children's hospital because they couldn't treat him according to their condition.They started talking about whether I knew or understood what cancer was, but with my nerves and my mind I managed to understand it because they mentioned that word to me so many times. After 5 hours an ambulance took us to Atlanta and when we arrived they sat me down with mental support to tell me that my son needed a blood biopsy to determine what type of cancer he had.We were in ICU for 5 days. We received the diagnosis of AGGRESSIVE acute myeloid leukemia. Now Valentino initially has to spend 28 days hospitalized on the cancer floor and receive chemotherapy.undergo bone marrow and marrow examinations. every day he need to have 2 blood labs test. He is fighting, he is giving his best.

Inmediatamente una enfermera llamó a un médico para que lo viera sin registrarlo todavía y el médico con cara de preocupado y asombrado me dijo “su hijo necesita una transfusión de sangre inmediata”, lo cual para mí fue una sorpresa porque yo no entendía como una “neumonía” necesitaba una transfusión de sangre. Una vez ingresados ​​empezaron con los exámenes de sangre y después de unas 3 horas recuerdo que entraron 5 médicos y me dijeron que tenían que trasladar a mi hijo al hospital de niños porque no podían tratarlo de acuerdo a su condición. Empezaron a hablar de si yo sabía o entendía lo que era el cáncer, pero con mis nervios y en mi mente no lograba entender porque me mencionaban esa palabra tantas veces. Después de 5 horas una ambulancia nos llevó a Atlanta y cuando llegamos me sentaron 4 doctores con “apoyo mental” para decirme que mi hijo necesitaba una biopsia de sangre para determinar qué tipo de cáncer tenía. Estuvimos en UCI 5 días. Recibimos el diagnóstico de leucemia mieloide aguda AGRESIVA. Ahora Valentino tiene que pasar 28 días hospitalizado en el piso de Cáncer y recibir quimioterapia, someterse a exámenes de médula ósea y análisis de hueso. Todos los días necesita hacerse 2 análisis de sangre. está dando lo mejor de sí.
