Help Valentina with her father Lorenzo's funeral expenses

Our friend Valentina needs to urgently raise 5,000 € to cover the funeral costs and expenses of her dearly departed father, Lorenzo, who lived with long-term Parkinson. He sadly died on Sunday morning after going into a coma when he stopped breathing.

Palliative care is expensive and it is well known that the Italian government does not provide enough support to the sick and elderly when they need it most. The institutions have refused to pay for the cost of a care worker for Valentina's parents, who are frail, elderly and unwell. This is why her parents, like many others , have spent all their life savings on this care. Additionally, Valentina herself has spent many years helping to finance this care for both her parents - leading her to get into severe financial debt.

This speaks volumes about a broken social care system controlled by a tax-evading government that refuses to prioritise the wellbeing of its most vulnerable citizens.

We cannot change the system overnight, but campaigns like this contribute to the case to make that change happen.

We appreciate any help at this time so that Valentina and her mother can bury Lorenzo with the dignity that he deserves, that we all deserve.

These donations will go towards:

3550 € for :

crematorium ( 700 € ) , Funeral Home services ( 2600 € for hearse, coffin & transportation , dressing of the body, death certificates, mortuary passport, posters, church parking) municipal tax urn and additional municipal taxes ( apparently is mandatory to pay for a DNA test 60 € ) etc.

The rest will cover for travel expenses for Valentina and Akira to join Pia's side and the taxi fee to reach all the offices around Naples to sort out the endless bureaucracy and paper work required.

La nostra amica Valentina ha bisogno urgentemente di raccogliere 5.000 € per coprire i costi e le spese del funerale del suo defunto padre, Lorenzo, che conviveva con il Parkinson da molto tempo. Purtroppo è morto domenica mattina dopo essere entrato in coma dopo una crisi respiratoria.

Le cure palliative sono costose ed è risaputo che il governo italiano non fornisce sostegno sufficiente ai malati e agli anziani quando ne hanno più bisogno. Le istituzioni si sono rifiutate di pagare le spese di un'operatrice che assiste i genitori di Valentina, che sono fragili, anziani e malati. Questo è il motivo per cui i suoi genitori, come molti altri, hanno speso tutti i risparmi di una vita per queste cure. Inoltre, la stessa Valentina ha trascorso molti anni aiutando a finanziare queste cure per entrambi i suoi genitori, portandola ad avere un grave debito finanziario.

Ciò la dice lunga su un sistema di assistenza sociale fallito, controllato da un governo che evade le tasse e che rifiuta di dare priorità al benessere dei suoi cittadini più vulnerabili.

Non possiamo cambiare il sistema dall’oggi al domani, ma campagne come questa contribuiscono a far sì che tale cambiamento avvenga.

Apprezziamo qualsiasi aiuto in questo momento affinché Valentina e sua madre possano seppellire Lorenzo con la dignità che merita, che tutti meritiamo.

Queste donazioni andranno a:

3550 € per :

crematorio (700 €), servizi di pompe funebri (2600 € per carro funebre, bara e trasporto, vestizione della salma, certificati di morte, passaporto mortuario, manifesti, parcheggio della chiesa), urna fiscale municipale e tasse comunali aggiuntive (a quanto pare è obbligatorio pagare per un Test del DNA 60 € ) ecc.

Il resto coprirà le spese di viaggio di Valentina e Akira per raggiungere Pia, e il costo del taxi per raggiungere tutti gli uffici di Napoli e sbrigare le infinite pratiche burocratiche necessarie.
