Help Valentina recover from a dangerous fall
Donation protected
We reach out to you with a heavy heart for a little girl full of courage. At just 6 years old, Valentina needs an important surgery to heal her broken arm after a fall out of a tree. This operation is crucial to avoid a permanent deformity and ensure she has full mobility in her arm.
Unfortunately, the medical costs for this surgery are high, and her family is facing significant financial strain. Valentina lives with her family in a remote community in the Amazon jungle. Fortunately, the Awaken team was visiting on a medical mission not long after Valentina’s fall. Thanks to Dr. Ross, RMU students and Awaken volunteers, Valentina was able to visit the nearest medical centre in Tena to receive neccesary X-rays. This visit alone required travelling in canoe down the river, a 45 minute trip on a bus and the medical expenses. The surgery will require a journey much further from home, 5 hours to Quito.
That’s why we’ve created this fundraising campaign, to help cover the expenses for the surgery, post-operative care, and rehabilitation she’ll need.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in her recovery and quality of life.
Thank you for your help.
