My name is Valencia, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times I’ve faced. In December, I suffered a work-related injury that has made it difficult to maintain steady work. I was in and out of work throughout January, and I have been out of work completely for the month of February. Unfortunately, my employer has not followed proper protocol or honored my medical accommodations, leaving me unable to return to my job and without the income I rely on to support myself and my daughter.

This situation has put us in a difficult position. I am now behind on rent for February and will be for March as well. On top of that, both my gas and energy bills have cut-off notices, and I’m struggling to keep up with groceries and other essentials. I am fighting this battle the best way I can, but these things do take time—and yet, cut-off notices and evictions wait for no one. I have always taken pride in working hard and providing for my family, so asking for help is not easy for me. But right now, I have to put my pride aside and do what’s necessary for my daughter and myself.
