Hi! My name is Valarie, I have a bilateral cleft lip and palate

and this is a small part of my story…

This may be the hardest thing I've ever felt the need to do… but it will only fail if I don't try at all.

Some of you have followed my journey from the beginning. You have cheered me on, sympathized with me, and offered so much support that I felt seen and loved.

Up to the point of these last implants, my insurance covered my procedures. Moving forward, they do not cover what I'm needing. I've tried applying for credit care but got denied.

As a cleft patient, I feel that all my dental should be covered through any insurance I may have. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. This is the hard part for me… attached to this is a photo of my palate. You can see the fistula (hole) and the implants. I have severe bone loss as well as a non-existent gum line (they were removed by one of my oral surgeons). Because of this, I need a bar to stabilize the implants so they don't pull loose and I lose them. I've had so many failed surgeries, and I don't think GOD brought me THIS far to only bring me this far. However, if I end up not being able to get the bar, I'll still need new teeth to accommodate these implants. I had to reline my current dentures myself because no dentist around here would even try, plus it was anywhere from $300-$500! I couldn't see paying that much for teeth I wasn't gonna have much longer. I do have money saved, but it will be nowhere near enough. To get the bar I will need $10,000-$12,000. I don't expect to raise that kind of money, but any help is sooo appreciated! Thank you!
