Help Valarie Go to Fargo North Dakota

Hello my name is Valarie Maldonado, but I normally go as Val and I am an inspiring wrestler. I’m a freshman at Somerville High School and I am the FIRST female Varsity wrestler in our school’s history. I wrestle the Varsity spot for Somerville High at 106lbs. This year has not been a typical year by any means, but that did not stop me. With the assistance of my amazing Coaches Nick Accetta and Craig Delacruz I was able to accomplish so much even in my shortened season. I went to as many tournaments that we could manage during the season and I even won the 2021 Middlesex County Girls Invitational. I placed 3rd at the First Chick Wrestler's Classic only being beaten  by a state champ. I seeded into Regionals and had the amazing opportunity of representing Somerville at High School Girls States were I placed 4th in New Jersey at 106lbs. I also placed 2nd in NJ freestyle states after being out for 4 weeks with an injury.

Based on my freestyle states placement- I have qualified to head to Fargo North Dakota for the 2021 USA Wrestling Women’s Nationals where I can represent team New Jersey. This would be an amazing opportunity for me to gain experience in big competitions and grow as a wrestler and as an individual. I have dreams of wrestling in college and possibly the Olympics in the future. I have been taking my training to the next level with extra practices, intense workouts, and seeking out wrestling partners that will push me to better myself. Part of this includes traveling to competitions. 

With uniform costs, travel costs and hotel costs this is a large expense. If you could please help me continue to grow in this amazing sport by allowing me the opportunity to compete, please donate, ANY amount helps! I very much appreciate it!! IF by chance we exceed our goal any additional money will be for upcoming tournaments or saved for next year's FARGO.
