Hi, my name is Marc Valends mostly known as Val. In December 2020, I moved to the US and left my family behind due to ongoing political instability and kidnappings happening back home in Haiti. Being a victim of these atrocities myself, i had no other option but to seek refuge somewhere else. I came here legally and filled out all the paperwork necessary to stay in the US to work and live here. I was granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) which is set to be renewed 18 months. As some of you may know the Supreme Court has ruled in Trump’s favor to revoke the temporary status for countries like Haiti, Cuba and Venezuela. Therefore he revoked my status which was set to expire in February 2026 with no possibility of renewal, now my TPS is set to expire on August 3rd, which leaves me with just a month to figure out an Alternative. With the current travel ban that he just issued, getting any sort of visa to stay here is nearly impossible. I have no family here with me in the US, but I have built a lot of genuine connections and friendships, and in this moment i need all the help and support I can get to survive through this unfortunate circumstances that I have found myself. This is an emergency and i am already grateful to anyone who will be donating. These funds are needed for me to get a good lawyer and pay for any kind of application that i may need as i am in talks to find a solution .
