Help Juno Prints-Val's Family Recover from Crash
Donation protected
Last Saturday, my mom was involved in a car accident. She was fortunately minimally harmed and is now taking lots of time to rest and heal. Her car is suspected to be totaled. This incident stacked more on my family's already-full plate, as we've been recovering financially from many things, most recently moving. Before the accident, my mom and I were working hard to pay off debts and keep up with bills. We've been overwhelmed for months, but felt relief within reach of the fall semester. After this, with my mom losing her car, she is out of work and we will struggle more with transportation.
I feel set back on what we've been working so hard to achieve. We feel more overwhelmed than ever, and my mom is still trying to heal. Kind words have helped immensely already. I asked my mom if she felt this was the point we really needed monetary help, and she answered yes. Neither of us want to ask the community for help, unless absolutely necessary. I feel I owe Tallahassee so much for raising me in its fantastic communities, especially the art scene, making this request a seriously considered one.
I'm extremely grateful for my mom's life. This was a very serious crash, with the car hitting the driver's side straight-on. It also appears the front airbags did not deploy correctly.
And so, I try to ask for as little of an amount that I think will stabilize us after this accident.
Our most urgent bill at the moment is rent, and the remainder that we are missing are this fundraiser's amount goal. I am extremely grateful for anything you can spare; each bit adds up, and provides relief for my family. We've had a difficult run of unfortunate and financially straining events recently, and any help lessens the burden of such stressful times.
Thank you for reading, if you have a minute, please share this fundraiser or the original Instagram post on @JunoPrints which references how to help. Much love, Val Shepard
