Help Val pay rent after Cancer Surgery

Hi,
My name is Trudy.
A few years ago my very dear friend Val had some awful news in the form of bowel cancer. Val had an operation to remove a fair portion of the affected area as well as a 6 month stint with Chemotherapy. She came out of this quite well, much to the excitement of friends & loved ones.
After a routine check up in December 2018, Val was told the cancer had shown up in her liver.
Recently, Val has undergone surgery to remove half her liver & doctors have also taken her gall bladder. I have recently moved to Tasmania from Sydney (where Val lives). I love her and miss her very much, and wish I could be there for day to day support, duties & hugs.
Val now has at least 3 months of recuperation before she can even think of going back to her nursing career.
Including Monday to Friday, Val's husband Neil has been working some nights and weekends to keep up rent payments and make ends meet, as Val has used all available holiday pay & long service that she had owing, with her time off work for this & the bowel cancer treatment. I need your help to see that Neil spends these extra hours with Val & not at work.
