Help Val & Ollie Stay Housed

Update: Hello everybody. I've had to extend the GoFundMe, as we now have to move... Again. The new amount is to help us land a new apartment. Our savings are just obliterated, and new job opportunities are giving me the runaround. Even if I were to get a job today, it would likely be more towards the middle of the month that I would be starting at the earliest, and we have no savings to afford first/last rent and security deposit that many places require.

The new amount is to help us land a new apartment. Most places need first + last + sec deposit and after everything we've been through, we have no savings for that. Here's hoping next year my life isn't utterly consumed by constant fear, anxiety, and instability the way it has all of this year.

Hi there. My partner Ollie and I have been struggling financially for years now, and have been dealing with housing instability for most of this year, due to my partner's difficulties keeping a job due to their multiple disabilities. Several times, it looked like we would become homeless. We have just moved in to a new apartment, and already, things are going wrong.

Our new roommates miscommunicated the amount of rent we would be expected to pay, and gave us the false impression that we wouldn't need to pay rent up-front. It turns out, we do, and instead of our monthly rent being $770, it'll be $1,100.

This is already disastrous for us, given that we are both unemployed. A transfer within my previous employer to a new location fell through, and I am unexpectedly jobless. Ollie has been making a tiny amount of money through Doordash, but even that has been ruined, because our car needs new tires that we cannot afford to replace.

The money I am asking for will go towards the following:

-Rent that is due right now, and rent due at the end of the month (total $2,200)

-Utilities (Unknown, they still have not told us what utilities cost)

-Food (while we try to reapply for SNAP) and basic necessities to live
