Help Val & Braden Support Baby Zaedyn in His NICU Journey

On Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, at 1:38 AM, Valerie Carr and Braden Rivest welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Zaedyn Daniel Rivest, into the world at just 29 weeks + 2 days gestation—arriving 10 weeks and 4 days early. Despite his early arrival, Zaedyn is doing amazing, and so is Valerie!

Currently, Valerie and Zaedyn are in Toronto, where he is receiving the critical care he needs to grow big and strong. Braden remains at home with their two oldest children, one of whom has high needs, making it difficult for him to travel. He is doing everything he can to support Val and Zaedyn from afar, but their situation is incredibly challenging.

Braden will visit as often as possible, but their car is unreliable, and flying is the safest way for him to get to Toronto when childcare allows. Meanwhile, Valerie is staying at Ronald McDonald House, but she still needs financial support for daily living expenses while she waits for Zaedyn to grow and thrive.

We are asking for $10,000 to help with:

• Travel costs for Braden to visit Valerie and Zaedyn

• Living expenses in Toronto while Valerie stays close to her baby

• Everyday essentials while they navigate this difficult time
