Vader is SUCH a happy boy who has brought so much joy and love in to mine and our family’s lives. However, for the past six months, he’s been struggling with a chronic ear infection that just won’t go away, no matter how hard we’ve tried to treat it. Recently, the vet dermatologist discovered a growth inside his ear canal, and after follow ups, we learned that the way to truly help Vader is through a procedure to remove his ear canal. This surgery is necessary to prevent spreading of the infection causing serious neurological issues, eliminate the infection, remove the growth, and prevent the infection from ever coming back.
This surgery is major, invasive, and costs a significant amount, but going through with it will finally allow him to live without the pain and discomfort he’s been enduring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vader is 8 years old and still acts like a puppy. He is the sweetest, kindest dog and has never had a mean bone in his body. I want to keep him that way and prevent this from developing into anything life threatening when it’s already this serious. I alone have already spent over $3k in vet bills. Even a dollar would be incredibly helpful.
This is an estimate right now. I have his first consultation with the surgeon tomorrow. I was quoted from the dermatologist that referred me to the new vet surgeon that the costs will be at least $5k-10k. I just want to try and get a head start. I may change the total in the future.
