Hi there, my name is Victoria (or V) and I've made this campaign to raise the funds needed to help me move back to Portland, Oregon along with my girlfriend, Andrea, so we can recieve urgently needed medical care.

I lived in Portland for 5 years before losing my housing due to my becoming disabled with long COVID. I moved to Maryland to stay with my girlfriend in March 2025.

I found a lump in my left breast a month after moved in. A few weeks later I finally got into a local Planned Parenthood for a manual breast exam, where they found a secondary lump directly next to it. I had been experiencing pain in the area, but I had been doing moving work and I had chalked it up to other chronic pains I experience. PP gave me a referral and told me they didn't have any clinics with mammograms in the area. I tried to get care with a local cancer screening group but became too depressed and overwhelmed to re-complete the paperwork after I was rejected from Medicaid.

I had resigned to die until a new friend gave me a possible chance at life. She is wanting to help pay for a out-of-pocket mammogram for me ASAP here in Maryland, and then, depending on results, we set the speed in which I move back to Portland where I would be eligible for care so much easier. I qualify for a lot of assistance that doesn't exist where I am at now. The idea of returning and choosing to live again is wonderful.

Right now, any funds raised would be going towards several things: the physical move back, like a uhaul box for our belongings, flight costs for us both along with two cats, necessary food money, or other unexpected travel expenses, as well as rent money for when we find a place. Things may change on here funds wise and moving speed wise if cancer treatments become a needed thing, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
