Help UTD Laksh go to Nationals - Legends!

Hi everyone!

 

We are UTD Laksh, the University of Texas at Dallas’s Premier Bollywood Fusion dance team. We are so excited to announce our invitation to Legends for the second year in a row! Last year we had the privilege to perform on this prestigious stage and bring home 1st place and be crowned the National Champions. This season, we have had the pleasure of competing and placing at all of our competitions: 1st place at Nachte Raho in Iowa City, 1st place at Aaj Ka Dhamaka in Chapel Hill, 1st place at Jhoomti Shaam in Los Angeles, and 1st place at Legacy on Broad in Philadelphia. All of our hard work has earned us 1 of 9 invitations to Legends, the National Fusion Dance Competition in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 15th. We are eternally grateful and blessed to have this opportunity to showcase our passion for dance and our culture one last time.

 

The reality of attending multiple competitions throughout our season is that we are not school funded. Our university does not provide any monetary support for our organization and all of our funds are raised by our team. Even with our multiple fundraising efforts such as bake sales and gigs, we have been struggling to make ends meet. Our finances go toward registration fees, transportation, accommodation, costumes, production, and various miscellaneous costs. We truly need the support of each and every one of you to help us attend and perform our best at Legends. Our dancers have been working day and night and balancing hours alongside their classes, extracurriculars, work, and other commitments and we want to give them the possible chance to showcase their efforts on this prestigious stage. We cannot wait to represent our culture, university, and passion for dance on a national platform. Thank you to everyone for their support and commitment to pushing our mission forward.
