In our efforts to support the community of Utah distillers, we are raising funds to begin offering Van Tours. These tours will bring individuals from their homes or hotels to distilleries across Utah. This will provide the much needed funds and awareness to each of the participating distilleries.
Utah does not make things easy for the distillers as they are not allowed to offer all of their spirits in the state ran liquor stores. Moreover, the state pressures distillers to offer the products they will carry at prices that differ from what the distiller would intend. Often undercutting the distiller or overpricing products making them undesirable to consumers.
Most Utahns could not name more than 3 of the 15 current distilleries which exacerbates the issues the distillers face. Additionally, since Utah is a highly visited state, travelers are completely unaware of any distillery outside of High West Distillery in Park City.
Utah’s Spirit Trail offers many different programs that are all designed to drive the level of awareness of the distilling community up exponentially. However, what these amazing individuals need is active traffic through their doors and that is what we would like to correct by offering Van Tours. Because vans are not inexpensive we are hoping for your help in our efforts to support Utah’s community of craft distilleries.
