Our beloved and esteemed teacher Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami is in immediate need of medical attention, we are asking our extended community to help us reach our goal of $50,000. He is currently in Islamabad under critical medical attention and requires urgent bypass surgery. All funds will go directly to the surgery and Nizami family to ensure he receives the medical care he needs.

On May 12th, Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami experienced a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. He needs immediate medical care before he can return to the US. His family is seeking any help possible through donations or sharing this page.

Ustad Nizami is a pillar figure of traditional and classical music. He has dedicated his life to the tradition of classical and folk music preservation for over 50 years. Whether on stage, or at the Nizami School of Music, Ustadji has utilized music to heal, inspire, and bring people together for several decades

Today, Ustadji finds himself in the hardest position of his life.

A Sudden Health Crisis

Ustad Nizami recently lost his elder brother, Ustad Mohammad Akhtar Nizami. On May 12th, as he traveled to assist in funeral preparations, Nizami Ji had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital in Islamabad. Ustad Nizami now needs to be taken across the country to the Agha Khan hospital for expensive procedures. Doctors have confirmed that he needs heart bypass surgery as soon as possible. His family is asking for any assistance from the community.

Why I’m Asking for Help

As a full-time musician and music teacher, Ustadji’s income depends on performing and teaching music. Like many artists, the Nizami family doesn’t have the medical insurance that adequately covers the massive costs of surgery, hospitalization, and months of recovery. The financial burden is staggering between the surgery, hospital stay, medications, and cardiac rehab, and the out-of-pocket costs are expected to exceed $50,000
