Help us make a Teaser for JEFFREY'S TURN!
Help us shoot a JEFFREY'S TURN trailer to help us in our applications to secure the funding we need to help Glen make his fIrst Feature Film! Our trailer shoot will feature a few scenes from the film, featuring two of our lead actors, JR & Anna. This shoot would take 2 days in 3 locations, shot in Northern Ontario (Parry Sound)
(We lowered our goal to $2,500 as one of our donors donated $500 via E-transfer. We have $7,200 in funding now secured. We need to raise another $800 to have our $8,000 budget.)

A lot of us have that one uncle that your mother is always comparing you to, and she does not want you to “end up like”. I grew up with not just one, but a few of those uncles. There was never a boring moment growing up on the Rez, that’s for sure. It can be amazing for the most part. The closeness of friends and family around. The freedom to roam around the community freely and safely. Although, one of the "cons" of having that freedom, is that you are not sheltered or censored from ANYONE or ANYTHING.
There are a lot of traumatizing events witnessed by many of us who grew up on the Rez. Events that have resulted with many of us walking through life, hurt and damaged, heavy and broken, burdened with layers of PTSD from the events we have witnessed. Elements of this film are fictionally based on true events in my life. – GLEN GOULD
ABOUT THE FILM
SYNOPSIS: Seventeen-year-old J.R. Sylliboy lives on the Black Bear First Nation with his widowed, environmentalist mother, Anna. He is summoned upon by the brother of his late father, his recently-released-from-prison uncle Buck, who has now been incarcerated in the state of Maine, as a result of an altercation with some locals.
Once united, the pair embark on a Summer adventure in the state of Maine, taking them on an unforgettable journey. Misfortune, corruption, deception and violence seem to greet them at every turn, until they finally make their way... to Jeffrey's Turn.
JEFFREYS TURN the idea was dropped in the ear of producer Hank White in 2010, while filming Charlie Zone. Hank and his company, Stone Cold Productions, optioned the film in 2014. In that year, with the generous support of Telefilm Canada’s Feature Development Program, we were given the opportunity to work with Story Editor, Jamie Gaetz, bringing the script from the 1st to 2nd draft.
In 2015, again with the generous support of telefilm, were given the opportunity to develop the script to a 3rd draft, working with story editor Ken Chubb (Arctic Air, Ginger Snaps).
In 2020, with the support of Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund, we were given another script development opportunity for the Director’s Polish, working with writer, Joe LeClair (8:37 Rebirth, Charlie Zone) as our story editor.
