Help Roy Recover from an Acute Digestive Illness
Two weeks ago, our kitten Roy (6 months old) was castrated. Shortly after the procedure, he developed severe diarrhea. We followed our vet’s advice and started him on probiotics, and thankfully, his condition improved for a few days.
However, this Tuesday, things took a turn for the worse — Roy began vomiting excessively (almost 10 times in one day, especially after sniffing or trying to eat), and the diarrhea returned. He became completely uninterested in food and visibly weaker.
We rushed him to the vet, where he underwent extensive testing and was diagnosed with an acute digestive illness. Bloodwork showed inflammation and signs of infection. He was prescribed IV fluids, antibiotics, and medication to control vomiting and pain.
Despite all this, Roy has barely eaten in days — only a bit of tuna Churu sauce. We've been feeding him every hour with veterinary electrolytes to keep him hydrated and nourished. He’s trying to be playful and stay strong, but he’s exhausted.
Yesterday, he began to show signs of discomfort after taking the antibiotics, so we had to return to the vet for another round of exams and new medications.
The first emergency visit cost 7000 NOK, and the follow-up visit added another 3000 NOK — with more expenses likely ahead. This was an unexpected financial burden for our household, and we’re doing everything we can to support Roy’s recovery.
We’re asking for your help to cover Roy’s medical costs so he can get the treatment he needs without delay. Every little bit helps — and Roy, the sweetest and most resilient kitten, will be forever grateful.
*The insurance is very strict, and since he is in a waiting period for the insurance (takes 20 days for the insurance to be effective) and he was unlucky to get sick during the awaiting period, this is not being covered by the insurance or would ever be because they refuse to do so due to their policy*
Thank you so much for your support.
