*UPDATE

Bambi has taken a turn in the right direction and we're optimistic she will be discharged this week! There will possibly be dialysis involved, and after being bedridden for almost 3 weeks, it's going to take a lot of work and assistance to try and rebuild some strength. I'll need to take some more time away from work for a few weeks, and we really can't afford for me to do so... We have been blessed by so many already, and could really use some help as we navigate the next phase of this. Thank all of you who have sent your positive vibes our way, it's meant more than you know. We don't know what the future holds with this, but with all of your support, we're confident we can get through anything! So as many of you know, Bambi has a very rare neurological disease called hereditary spastic paraplegia that has no known cure. It essentially attacks her nerves from the waist down attacking muscles, organs etc. She's been slowly being affected more and more over the years, this last year however has been a rapid descent and she is currently full time in a wheelchair. Starting in January she was having a very hard time keeping food down or eating in general, and lost about 25 lbs over the course of a month... She finally went to the ER last week where we eventually learned her kidneys had essentially shut down. I'm not sure exactly what it is they test for the most (creatine, bun, etc) but the goal score is a 1, and she came in at a 9! They've gotten her levels to a 4, but it has peaked there, so they are now going to perform surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) morning to hopefully see what is going on. She has insurance that covers a lot, but not nearly enough for the extended stay she's already had. (And we don't know how much longer she could be there) We could use all the help we can get to try and keep from going bankrupt over medical care, and if you are in a position to help us out we would be forever in your debt. Also, it gets tough being stuck in the hospital, so if you feel like giving her a call or text, don't hesitate!
