I never thought I’d be writing this let alone begging for the internet’s help but here we are. I’m desperate.

Our 1 year old pup Lilo was hit by a car after chasing a cat, in front of my daughter and I on Friday evening (no fault of the driver). My world temporarily stopped and my screams didn’t sound like my own. We rushed her to the out of hours Vets who worked hard to save her little life. Given only a 20% chance of survival she fought through the night with the help of the angels at Ardene Vets/Vets Now in Kingswells. With a collapsed lung filling with blood, crushed joint, shock, dislocated pelvis and 2 fractures she fought to stay with us. In the first time in 8 years I prayed.

We have insurance for Lilo, being the silly sausage she is, but this only covers up to £5,000. She has been transferred to Cùmath in Ellon so bone specialists can operate on her next week but have been given the estimate of £7,500+ for her plate surgery in Cùmath, this is without the costs from Ardene which were around £2,400.

Her lung is clearing and went from 800ml of blood being drained on Friday to only 45ml Saturday evening, she is improving. She is fighting. Surgery should be hopefully on Tuesday.

We need all the help we can get for our Lilo bear. She has a long road ahead of her but as a family we will group together to help her through this journey. She’s such a kind natured, playful, loving baby who wins the hearts of all who meet her, she is such a special dog.
