Prayers for Baby Billy Kash

Donation protected
Hey Everyone, we have a precious baby boy in the NICU.

Billy Kash was born on October 18th, 9 weeks early at 31 weeks after a placental abruption caused me to lose all my amniotic fluid.  He weighed 2 pounds and 7 ounces at birth.

He has two holes in his heart.  The hole at the top(ASD) is small and mot expected to cause any issues.  The hole at the bottom(VSD) was pumping extra fluid to his lungs and causing collapses.

They decided that surgery was best option.  So after 101 days in the NICU at Maynard’s Children’s Hospital, we were transferred to Duke Hospital to undergo open heart surgery to fix the VSD.   We had the surgery on January 29th and IT WAS SUCCESSFUL.  THANK GOD!   As of right now, Baby Kash is still intubated and on a lot of medicines to help keep him comfortable and promote healthy lungs.  We are not sure how long the healing process will take, but we are so proud of him.  He’s the strongest little boy we know

He was also diagnosed with a Periventricular Leukomalacia.   Which is a brain injury that is caused by lack of oxygen at or before birth.  In more severe cases it can turn into Cerebral Palsy.  But we are working with Billy Kash and planning physical therapies to keep him on track with development over the next few years.  He’s doing so well and the injury is becoming less prominent with each scan.  We are so thankful for that.

He had a brain bleed that is also improving with each scan and not expected to cause any damage as it is small.

I was taken out of work in August due to complications for the duration of my pregnancy and longer after than expected for healing.  We also have no idea how long baby will be in Cardiac ICU total.  So this is a very trying and scary time for us.  But we are thankful that Kash is getting closer and closer to coming home.

We had a plan to be prepared for my maternity leave.  But with this being so unexpected, having him so early, and such a longer NICU stay,  we are asking for help.  We have been blessed to be able to stay up here with Kash. But bills have not stopped at home, and it has still been costly staying up here and Randy coming back and forth in between working everyday.

We are just in need of a little help.
I’m asking there be no judgement.
So please, if you are able to help, any amount is appreciated.
Also, even if you can’t donate, please say a quick prayer for our sweet baby.  He is our biggest blessing and absolute biggest priority.
I cannot stress it enough, prayers are appreciated more than anything.
Thank you so much.
