Hiya frens... 'tis me... Chaucer's Momma. As many of you know, Chaucer has had to go to the vet many times since the end of September. We weren't sure what was going on with him. His liver enzymes were incredibly high and we weren't sure why. He had multiple blood tests, an ultrasound and different medications. During this time, he started shaking and his teeth were chattering. When we took him back to the vet they started treating him for anxiety. At one of his many appointments, they took his blood pressure. His blood pressure was very high. I asked if this was "white coat syndrome". They told me that it was too high to be that. In January, we put Chaucer on blood pressure medication. It seems to have worked, but we need to do follow up appointments to be sure the dosage is correct. In addition to these appointments, we need to buy his medications and his prescription food. His food is $140 for 19.8 lbs. He goes through a bag every three weeks. He has been eating this food since he was one. The next step for Chaucer will be to continue with the testing for Cushing's Disease. All of these past appointments, medications, food and future appointments have proved to be too much for us. I know many of you have suggested that I start a GoFundMe, but I wanted to try it on my own. Our vet has been wonderful letting us make payments, but we just can't keep up. If you are able to help, you have no idea how much we would appreciate it. I am afraid that we will get so behind that his vet won't see us. Thank you for reading this and for your consideration. We love you all.
