On January 13, 2025, my baby boy was born through an emergency C-section due to a cord prolapse.
Before he was born we knew about the heart defects. Due to the three heart defects, he was transferred to Primary Children's Hospital. He was there for five days. He's been in and out of the hospital since then.
One day he stopped breathing on me for 45 seconds. He was life flighted to Primary Children's Hospital and was put on oxygen for 3 weeks.
Before heart surgery he would randomly pass out and no one could figure out why. After surgery they stopped.
He had his first heart surgery on February 24, 2025. He stayed in the hospital for 16 days in a row, seven days before surgery and nine days after surgery.
After surgery he was on an Ng tube (feeding tube) for 3 months. Couldn't haven't anything by mouth. He could even have his meds by mouth. When he got off the feeding tube his vocal cords were still paralyzed. Due to that he has to eat thicken foods.
This boy is such a trooper. We are now just at a waiting game to see if it's surgery number two. Due to being in and out of the hospital, medical bills have been piling up and missing work to stay with our son. It's been a stressful ride for us.
