Help Us Welcome Our Baby with Love, Care, and Community

Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and extended community—

I’m Mimi (some of you may know me as Patty), and together with my partner Rob, we’re preparing to welcome our first baby into the world this July through a midwife-supported home birth.

This journey has been humbling, stretching, and deeply transformative. And we’re asking, from a place of tenderness and trust, for your support.

Why a Home Birth?
We’ve chosen a home birth not just as a preference, but as a return: to a regenerative, body-honoring, earth-aligned way of bringing life into the world.

One where birth is held with reverence. One that centers the wisdom of the birthing person. One that uplifts women healers and caregivers who carry ancient, intuitive knowledge of this sacred rite.

This care isn’t covered by insurance—but it’s essential.
It’s the kind of support that nourishes not just the baby, but the entire family.

Where We Are Now
This past year has been a swirl of both courage and uncertainty. I made the choice to pivot away from my career as a climate consultant and step fully into work that felt more aligned with my soul—coaching, embodiment, and helping others heal their connection to the Earth and their bodies.

And then, just as that shift began, I became pregnant.

At the same time, shifts in the federal landscape led to the loss of most of my consulting clients. We’ve since been living on Rob’s income alone. And while we’ve made it work with love and creativity, we now find ourselves at a tender edge.

Pregnancy has been beautiful—and brutally intense. The physical and cognitive demands have at times brought me to my knees. What I thought would be a season of building has instead become a profound invitation to slow down, receive, and ask for help.

I’ve realized how vulnerable it is to be pregnant in a society that struggles to make space for this massive life transition. We are expected to carry on, to do more, to push through. But what I need now is care, community, and space to land softly.

How Your Support Will Be Used:
  • $6,000 for full midwifery care through Comadres Midwifery, including prenatal visits, home birth support, postpartum care, OB backup, and holistic guidance rooted in ancestral practice\
  • $250 for birth supplies like sterile gloves, gauze, peri-bottles, and other resources needed to support a safe home birth
  • $750 for labs, birth tub rental, and emergency care backup
  • $1,000 for postpartum doula support and healing sessions, including pelvic floor care, nervous system support, and spiritual integration in the early months of parenting

These services are not covered by insurance, but they are vital for a thriving and supported transition into parenthood.

If you feel moved to support us, thank you—truly. Every contribution, share, and word of encouragement is felt deeply.

Here are a few ways you can help:
  • Donate any amount to help us reach our $8,000 goal. Even if it’s just $10, it brings us one step closer.
  • Share this campaign with your network, especially those who believe in birth justice, community care, or regenerative living
  • Hire me for some coaching!
  • Reach out if you simply want to connect—I’d love that too

This isn’t just about one baby (although we are so thrilled she is in our lives). It’s about reclaiming a way of being that values care over convenience, interdependence over isolation, and the deep knowing that it truly takes a village.

Thank you for being part of ours.

With love and profound gratitude,

Mimi (Patty) + Rob
