York Steiner School offers a unique nurturing education which allows children to learn in an unpressured environment, where their individual characters are recognised and valued. We have recently opened an upper school, meaning our children can now benefit from a caring, vibrant and holistic education from birth to 16.

We at York Steiner School pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos and continual efforts to make Waldorf-Steiner education as accessible to as many families as possible, thanks to our graduated fee system. We are a “micro-independent” school and receive no government support. We do not have endowments, shareholders or luxurious premises, like some wealthier independent schools.

Our Community Supported Fee Assistance Fund helps many children to continue attending our school. At this time, where there is concern about changes to VAT on independent school fees, we’d like to be in a position to help more families through the Fund.
