My mother has always been my number one person—the one I call when I'm in trouble, the one who has supported me through everything. It’s been seven years since I last saw her, and now she has taken a turn for the worst. She is dying, and time is running out for us to be together. My mom has only met my oldest child, and it breaks my heart that she hasn’t had the chance to meet her other grandbabies. I promised my oldest that I would take him to see her before she passes, and if enough funds are raised, I want to bring all five of my children, myself, and my husband to be with her.

My mom is facing a perfect storm of health challenges. She has cirrhosis of the liver and is in liver failure, with cellulitis in her veins, an autoimmune disease, lymphedema, edema, and other complications. Watching her go through this is heartbreaking, and I want nothing more than to be by her side and give her the love and care she deserves.

The funds raised will go directly toward airfare, transportation, gas, and a place for us to stay for six days. This trip means everything to us—it’s our chance to give my mom the love and care she has always given me, and to let her meet and hold her grandchildren. She deserves to be surrounded by family and to feel the love she has given so freely throughout her life.
