My name is Erica and I'm raising money for my sister and brother-in-law so that their dream of becoming parents can be achieved. My sister lost her colon in 2017 due to severe ulcerative colitis. She spent about 2 months hospitalized throughout 3 surgeries to save her life. In 2018 she developed secondary Crohn's disease and other complications that resulted in her needing a permanent chest port to be placed. She will need IV hydration via her port for the rest of her life as well as medications to keep her Crohn's under control. Following a serious blood infection in July 2024 that she was able to survive, she had to be pulled off one of her medications which opened the door to her to be able to try to have children. Due to her medical issues she is too high risk to carry herself. I had always planned to be an altruistic surrogate for her, but due to my own high risk pregnancy, I am unable to carry for her. I am hoping to find ways to contribute as much as I can now. As a lactation consultant, my goal is to try to induce lactation myself so I can provide breastmilk for her. I am hoping to raise money for them to find a surrogate and bring their dreams to life.

My sister, Kirsten, is a former special education teacher who now works as a wellness coach with Tk-8th grade students. My brother-in-law, Kevin, works as an engineer. They have been married almost 5 years and have 3 adorable dogs-Rex, Bandit, and Potato. Their fur-babies can't wait to welcome a new baby into the family.
