Help us travel to Worlds VEX-IQ robotics in Texas

We are the Awesome Potatoes robotics team that is made up of 7th-grade girls. We have the fortunate opportunity to attend the world's robotics VEX-IQ competition for the 2nd year in a row. There is a short window of time to raise funds having been awarded a slot in the world competitions at the NH/VT state finals only one month ago. The travel team includes 5 team members, a coach, and a chaperone, all traveling to Dallas, Texas from Antrim, NH for 5 days. We will be traveling 4/29 to 5/4/2023.

This is an amazing opportunity to experience working with and meet teams from all over the world with the same challenges, and share diverse ideas and different robotics solutions. Our goal moving forward is to use the knowledge and experience gained via our participation in the Worlds competition to become an even stronger team next year and to mentor new Great Brook students entering the robotics program.

We were awarded $1200 from the David Kelly Foundation to cover our World Championship entry fee. We still need additional funds to cover the cost of our air travel, hotel, transportation, and food.

We have participated in three regional qualifying tournaments and the NH/VT VEX IQ State Championship. At each event, we earned a trophy for being one of the top teams participating. Our trophies include two Judges Awards (for the teams exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance), an Excellence Award (the highest award given at a tournament) and a Create Award (for the most creative solution to the engineering problem). At the State Championship, we achieved the highest score of the 40 teams participating in the event in which robots must be controlled solely by the software program developed by the team and thereby Great Brook became one of only two middle schools from NH to have a team qualify to participate in the World Championship.
